Sadly, my old favourite has not been up to standard....any advise on great hamburgers (chicken and shrimp included) and cold beer? ( Vaca used to be perfect, not sure what's going on).

A new place called Korsario Oyster Bar and Music Hall is opening in Bucerias on Ave. Las

Riviera Restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta

This evening we ate at Riviera Restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta . It is on the opposite side of the main road, Paseo de los Cocoteros, from Ocean Terrace condos. That condo building is next door to Bahia del Sol.

Riviera is open 5 - 11 every day except Tuesday. They have a big screen TV or two and will be showing football and other sports.

The decor is very nice and open, it's a garden...

New Cajun Restaurant

Uncle Bubba's Back Porch recently opened at 429-B Basilio Badillo in Old Town. The restaurant is located in a beautiful courtyard and features Louisiana southern fried chicken, spicy cajun popcorn shrimp, Louisiana hot wings, Louisiana steak fries, corn on the cob, cajun borgers, etc. They deliver (223-5754) and also feature daily dine-in cajun specials. They also feature a full bar and $9 peso coronitas beers. They are open from noon to 10pm daily.

Amazing Restaurants

It's been 2 years or so since I've been back in PV and wanted to ask about the food scene since it's been awhile. Who has the best Shrimp? Who has the best fish dinners (love whole red snapper or similar, fried or baked) Where would you go for a steak? And what could you recommend for an authentic Mexican meal?

I appreciate any advice - love to try new restaurants!

My wife found a review of this restaurant on Trip Advisor. It is supposed to be in El Centro but I don't recall ever seeing it. Has anyone ever eaten there? Where is it located? What's the menu like? Any non-seafod entrees? What about prices? Are the prices about the same as Cafe de Olla? Cheaper?More Expensive?

Although I have been there many times, I have only eaten off the menu twice at their "new" restaurant at Casa Isabel and that was breakfast, twice. Since Carlos and I are both working in Nuevo Vallarta, we took advantage of the fact we got off at the same time for once and meet for a late lunch at the Willows, a restaurant that recently opened between the Mayan Golf Course and la Lagunita.
We ordered the steak special, 10 ounce sirloin and the shrimp scampi. Both came with salad and drink, either soda or beer for 139 Pesos.each.
The steak was cooked on a flat grill, completely lacking in flavor, grey in color, touch and tasted...

My husband and I had ignored this restaurant as being "for tourists" for quite a few years. Well, all that's changed now..... we have eaten there twice in the last two months and both times were very impressed with the service, quality and prices (especially with the current exchange rate). Had lunch at Amapas Sunset today. No real lunch menu. Only a couple salads neither of which looked good. We settled for two different kinds of soup. Both way to salty. Service was excellent, but we were the only people there. Gorgeous expensive furniture. Got charged for a second iced tea. That is tacky. Where is a good place on the beach for a light lunch when Coco Tropical is closed?

I had lunch at Cafe Roma last week and instead of ordering pizza which I always do I had a delicious pasta dish. Good food, good vibes, good prices.

Kathryn and I had breakfast at Amapas Sunset this weekend. We were the only customers. The food was so-so but what was amazing that even with six waiters to see to our needs the service was terrible. I've given the place three tries. No mas.
