Does anyone know what the Decameron Hotel is like? Looks good on the website and 'all inclusive'! But a few ratings were not so good. Do they live up to all they advertize, are they clean and friendly? Thinking of staying for 10 days to 2 weeks.

Vallarta Shores or Tres Angeles?

We are family of 6....2adults, two 19yrs old, 17yrs, and 15yrs........We can stay at either Penthouse A at Vallarta Shores or Casa Tres Angeles......One is on beach but both have private pools...I know Vallarta shores is walking distance everywhere but is Casa Tres Angeles? Has anyone stayed at either? Vallarta Shores will be $300 more for the week......Any ideas? Im not sure where Casa Tres Angeles is exactly but we want to be able to walk to beach or restaurants.....thanks all!

For you fans of my favorite place, I've just gotten the straight story from Ricardo, the manager of the Vallarta Sun Hotel, about their closing this year for remodeling. For those familiar with the property, they are going to tear out the office behind the pool and make additional lounging area for guests. They are also going to incorporate the current Room 1 into the front reception area and make an office/apartment for the staff there. So for this year, they will close from April 5...

No more building skeletons for Vallarta: In order to obtain a building permit for a condo or hotel project in Puerto Vallarta you have to give the city a completion bond. to get a completion bond at a good rate you have to build according to the international beach front construction codes and not Jalisco State or national...

I have friends who are considering this hotel. I know the location but know nothing about the hotel or its amenities. Someone mentioned they were closed for renovations in October 2007.

Does anyone have a recent update? Has anyone stayed there this season???

Beware: PuertoVallarta.net Reservations Unreliable

Weeks ago we made hotel reservations using PuertoVallarta.net for our visit next week. At the time, we received a confirmation and reservation number, which was secured with a credit card. Yesterday I was informed that the reservation had been canceled because the hotel was totally sold out and had a minimum night stay policy which we didn't meet. They apologized for their mistake, but offered no assistance in finding another hotel or suggestions for other lodging in the area. My advice is...

New Year in Vallarta

I had the good fortune to be able to visit Vallarta over the New Years holiday and to spend my birthday there for the first time ever. The fireworks on New Years eve were terrific viewed from the beach near Cuates y Cuetes. Then for my birthday, I was invited to Jamie Coates birthday party on the rooftop of Paco Paco. You may remember Jamie as the owner of the Net House, one of the early internet cafes in town. There was a good group of people, and I was able to meet many new friends....

I will be arriving in Vallarta next Thursday, Jan 17th. Can anyone help me find an apartment? I need it furnished, with kitchen, bano, hot water, util included. I am hoping for el centro, 5 de deciembre is a great location, but I will live farther out maybe around the staduim. I will need it for 1 month until February 20th. I don't want to spend more than $5500 pesos for the month. I would appreciate any help!
