As some of you know my wife and I are trying to find a way to move down there. Early this morning the US House passed a new health care bill. It is clearly not a final version as it has to be reconciled with whatever the Senate passes. However, Under Title 1, Subtitle D, p 28, "Shared Responsibility", the Personal Responsibility Requirement, Beginning in 2013, all U.S. citizens and legal residents" would need to purchase health...

Over the past month I've been reading on the noticiasPV website about the state of Nayarit's fight against dengue fever. Anecdotal evidence tells me it's a major problem. One of my employees missed a week of work with the condition. And I've spoken to at least four people who have had it. I've been worried about every mosquito bite. And until today I've not seen a sprayer truck. At this moment they are passing through our neighborhood. Must be high season.

I just heard from Mi Mujercita in Houston. She passed the test and interview to become a US citizen this morning. Swearing-in is next Wednesday morning, seven am.

Does anyone know what happened to El Sofa accross from Medasist? I bought a large sectional sofa from them years ago. It is badly in need of reupholstry (white). I want to keep it white, I live right on the beach and get full sun after noon. Colors fade out. I think it was a denim type of fabric. It was great for years but after many bleachings it is worn. I was thinking of Sunbrella. Any advice about El Sofa or where to go for good reupholstry? Thanks in advance, Judy

EASY DRY

bought a seven pound container of EASY DRY
that came with a smaller container for closed area
i use it mainly for my hearing aid
as sweat and humidity really gets into them
they are silicon gel that absorbs moisture

well anyway
had the small container that can be placed inside a closet
was sitting in my studio unattended
just looked at it
it was full of dirty water
read the instructions
say to drain water out every...

Telenovelas - Good Ones?

My life is about to change...I have TV for the first time in 4 years since moving here to Mexico. I definitely have mixed feelings and have relished my TV free life. But as long as I can keep it in an unobtrusive location, covered with some nice fabric, and only on occassionally, it might be ok.

So my question is (the first of many I'm sure...): are there any telenovelas that you'd recommend? I'm curious to check them out just to see what they're like. I watched...

Where to Find TV Stand on Wheels?

Any ideas where to look for a TV stand on wheels? The TV is a big old style TV (20+ inches). Just want something simple that I can wheel away into a corner when I'm not using the TV (which is most of the time) and maybe a shelf underneath for the VCR/DVD player.

Will probably check out the usual Coppel, Mega, Elektra but wondered if maybe someone had seen one so I could specifically look there.
