How much rain?

It has been raining about 24 hours now. Does anyone have a really large rain gauge to tell how much rain we have had? My guess is 14 inches! We love it! We are getting lots of reading and chores done in the house. Any mudslides in Amapas yet?

We're having more and longer power outages than usual in Yelapa and I would like to put pressure on CFE from the State? or Federal? agency that has supervisory authority over them. Does anybody know what that agency might be?

U. S. Social Security workers coming to PV

It is my understanding that Social Security workers from Guadalajara will be in town next Tues. and Wed. June 24 and 25. They will be at Paradise Village at 10:30 am on Tuesday and the Sheraton at 10:30 am on Wednesday. This info came from the American Consular agent here in PV. If anyone needs their help on anything.

Someone was out to test my honesty today.

First, I went to the bank ATM to get some cash. The guy in front of me somehow forgot to cancel his transaction before leaving the machine. The machine was patiently waiting for me to do a transaction on the other guy's account. I remembered how our oldest son once lost almost $3000 pesos from his Guadalajara bank account by making this same mistake.

About 15 minutes later, I went to pay my phone bill at the Telemex...

Boat Storage

I need a secure place to store my 16 foot aluminum boat and trailer. The north hotel zone or north would be ideal as I launch in Nuevo Vallarta.

A walled in yard or car port would be ideal.

Also looking for a bodega for long term storage.

It sometimes takes a while for me to grasp the obvious!

A couple of days ago, I went to Plaza Caracol for the zillionth time and happened to walk past the "+ Kota" pet store. I have been in the pet store numerous times just to look around. They have cats, dogs, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

I had always thought of this...

Traffic and other stuff

Tried to drive north to Nuevo Vallarta at 6:00PM yesterday. Saw that traffic was not moving north from Plaza Marina so waited until 7:30 to try again. Got as far north as Home Depot and traffic came to a full stop then stop and go. No help from Transito as cars, buses and trucks created new lane on shoulder. So over 30 minutes from Home Depot to Ameca River bridge then in middle of bridge wide open traffic. Can only assume that army checkpoint on Narita side of bridge had caused holdup....

not that we'll we watching during the daylight hours! Can you get 100's of north americian\canadian channels on cable?
We will be living in a new condo on the 4th floor. Not sure if Condo developments have satellite if they did Star Choice would

This is just a shameless plug for my chiropractor, Dr. Lenny Sugarman. I had knee replacement surgery 2 years ago, and while the healing went well, I didn't realize how much better it could be until I went in for lower back pain treatment a week ago. Besides getting my back fixed, Dr. Lenny also helped my knees. I now have better balance, and more confidence and security in walking. I've also told my orthopedic surgeon that chiropractic care should be part of the post surgical therapy...

Shoes and Sneakers Overhead

As one drives around the PV area, pairs of shoes and sneakers can be seen hanging from utility lines, not only in PV but many of the small towns around here, as well. Surely enough pairs to fill a shoestore. They appears to be in good to reasonable condition.
I've been told they have something to do with drug deals at that location.
My question is why doesn't CFE and Telmex pull them off the lines and donate them to groups which could distribute them to kids and adults who...

Anbody know what happened to the barber shop that was on Cardenas between Constitution and Insurgentes? They gave a $7.00 US haircut with mostly scissors that took an hour and ended with them lying you flat in the chair and shaving under your neck with lather and a sharp straight razor. I went there last week for my usual monthly clip and the place was locked up and cleaned out with no sign indicating whether they'd closed for good or moved.
