Great Ribs |

I've been visiting Puerto Vallarta for almost fifteen years and have had a lot of great food. Prior to returning to Canada I stopped at Blakes Bar and
tried their barbequed ribs. They were some of the best ribs I've had. At 120 pesos for a good size portion it is a very good value too.

Fajita Banana at the Marina is also great value. El Torito too. For ribs and other common food.
Blakes has some real gourmet offerings as well. And draft beer. Neither of those are available at the other places. |

My favorite two places for ribs would have to be Archie's Wok first (individual ribs in Hoisin sauce)...and then Outback Steakhouse. I actually have the
ribs at Outback at least once or twice a month....our favorite lunch place because it is the only place in PV with a supervised kids area that has drawing and
toys and movies and my son asks me to go there all the time....
I'm going to have to try out this Blakes place....where is it located? |

Mike, Blakes is in the hotel zone, I think right by the Villa Vallarta shops- close to Office Depot.
To Mexratzlaff..... you spelled your name wrong! If you were cool you would spell it retzlaff.......then we could be related. |

Dear Mexratzlall
Thank you for your comment and we hope to see you again in September. The ribs are a Wednesday special for our regular customers and locals at a reduced price. They have gone over very well. |

Blakes has some of the best food in town.
Much better than Ernestos and Toritos IMHO. This is an honest business too, no added extras like Toritos has a habit of doing. Way to go Blake! |

Judi, thank you for the great compliment. We try to do the best
we can for our fellow ex pats and all customers and always happy when we have made someone happy. Just a bit of a heads up, tomorrow will also feature wings, a
burger that will surprise everyone.( newest recipe, special ), Ribs of
course and my chili con carne.......lots of Canadian music and for those who dare....tequilla jello shots........if you care to stop in it would be great to
welcome you and anyone else who would like to celebrate.......thank you again .....................all the best

Sue and Mike Blake,
Carlos is my husband. My maiden name is Retzlaff... hence Bruce's comment...and my original comment. On a side note, I did receive your message while I was back in the States attending to my Mom and her funeral and I will respond soon. I/we have not been to your restaurant but I wish you much success, although I will ask that if you wish to promote your business on the board, which is fine, please read the post about "spam" etc. Some people get bent when someone on the board posts more about their business versus asking/answering general questions and offering an insight to Puerto Vallarta for the readers/posters. Enjoy your vacation and having time to rediscover Vallarta:) once you return we'll come and try your ribs which is one of Carlos' favorite meals...and which means I do not have to cook them! |

Judimex, what "added extras" are you referring to at El Torito? We don't recall ever being charged for anything we didn't expect to be
charged for. When you badmouth a business (not "honest," habit of added extras) you ought to provide some details.
