that you are there so I can pop out to say hello. it's going to be slow as hell for the next three months but come October I think we'll do pretty

Seth, it is the slow time now, however with word of mouth, you may be very surprised.
As soon as one knows you are open, that is all it takes. Good luck and see you soon. R |

Great news, Seth!
I will be part of the October group Deb mentioned, really looking forward to trying out your new location since I only got to try the old spot once in May. |

looking forward to oct | ||

thanks for your post. I look forwarding to welcoming you all back in October. We have incredible plans for the restaurant and club. By October we'll
have seating for nearly 100 people. We'll be offering dining salon, dining lounge, cabana and poolside seating. In addition we intend to do dinner shows
with the shows that appear at the Club including the Kinsey Sicks and Lea DeLaria. We're also tossing around the idea of doing a Sunday Pool Party
Champagne Brunch. And always, if after dining you want to boogie the night away, the dance floor will be yours. more very soon. seth

Seth, those plans sound promising and I suspect we'll try to take advantage of as much as we can fit in our busy "schedule". My best friend will
be joining me my last two weeks and her brother-in-law and his partner will be in for 10 days. So I suspect you'll see us taking up some space on that
dance floor later in the evening too. Get those green tomatoes fryin'!!!
And I forgot to say, I've heard so much about the Kinsey Sicks, I sure hope we're able to see them! |

And Deb, I see nothing on our Sunday calendar, so if Seth decides to do it, a poolside brunch sounds good to me.

supper club | ||

This is sounding great....like a new twist on the old supper club. The space is certainly capable of handling all of this. Good luck Seth. We'll need to
boogie the night away to work off those chicken fried steaks.
Incidentally, the Kinsey Sicks are on this seasons "America's Got Talent" and it looks like the judges loved them from the previews. I saw Ben, one of the 4 "sicks" at Ritmos last week and asked him how it went. He smiled and said, "I'm not allowed to talk about it." His smile said a lot though. Watch if you can. They are incredible. Here's a photo (improperly credited as the Kingey Sicks instead of Kinsey Sicks) of them from the New York Times article on June 18, 2008. http://tvdecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/18/america-may-have-talent-but-abcs-got-basketball/ and here they are on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/kinseysicks

Ted, the champagne part of the Sunday affairs certainly caught my attention. I believe we'll have to make the sacrifice and attend at least one of those.

Seth, it sounds wonderful. I am coming down for 3 weeks the end of July, so I will definitely be checking it out. Maybe your grand opening will be while I
am there. Good luck!!

Is anyone else aware of the rumor that the other half of the Coconuts partnership is going to open their own "southern comfort food" establishhment
soon in PV?

Tambien....could be "muy interesante" if either of them actually happen.

muy, muy interesante | ||

Yeah, I guess you're right - very interesting - particularly as the two are located less than a half block from one another. But mine will not be Southern
cuisine but American Comfort Food. And I don't really think we'll be competing very much. Two very different spaces - one very small - one very
large. Good luck to us all!

Bienvenidos a Peyton Place!
Vallarta is a small town where rumors run wild and everyday is a soap opera;) With that said, most things I hear goes in one ear and out the other. Lord knows I have heard a few rumors about myself, my favorite is that I am battling cancer and only have a year or so to live....I've also been pregnant for about six years. (OK< yeah, I know my belly sticks out further than my butt, but so did my Mom's and all of my aunt's tummies- its genetics, not a baby!) Anyway- I wish both of these guys the best. Opening a biz here is difficult enough as it is. Add a partner and you have double the trouble. Hopefully they can work out their differences and on their own, each find success....and we all can enjoy the fruits of their labors. |

oh, so true words ... | ||
|
You are so right. For the first couple of weeks after the restaurant closed I was opening a new one everyday at different locations, i was a criminal and
going to jail, then I too was dying (though I didn't hear that I was pregnant!). It was ridiculous so I too learned to just let it all flow by me.
fortunately the multiple daily calls of where I was, what I was doing, what I had done have diminished. Now all i want to do is focus on my future, a new
restaurant and my friends. Thanks to you and all for the support. Seth
