PV to Tonala and Tlaquepaque |
Lead | |
|
I would like to take a shopping trip to Tonala and Tlaquepaque. I went last year with the International Friendship Club in PV, but missed all of their dates
this past season. We stayed in Tonala for two nights and were able to put things that we purchased under the bus for storage on the way home. Does anyone know
what would be the best way to go and be able to bring back items that I purchase? Any suggestions? By bus? Thanks so much.

Several (many?) of the hotels in Tlaquepaque and Tonala have storage areas for your stuff. We've seen roped off sections in the lobby where people stack
their treasures until the return trip.
Possibly bring a big empty suitcase or several boxes to bring the things home on the bus. When might you be going? We could possibly be convinced to take a little shopping trip. |

Sioux4noff, I know that I will be back in PV from June 6 - June 23. I might need to buy some bigger items than would fit in a suitcase or box. I am looking
for things for a client that I am helping find decor for his casa. I will try to check out buses and see what I can find out next week. It would be fun to go
with you all. I forgot the name of the hotel that I stayed at in Tonala, but it did have one of the areas to rope off for all of your bought goods. It
seemed very secure. Then it was loaded on the bus the morning that we left. I will PM you and let you know what I find out.

Working on the trip! | ||

Everyone, I will concentrate this week on trying to find a way to do this trip. I think the name of the hotel that we stayed at in Tonala was something like
Hacienda del Sol (?) My card for that hotel is in our condo in PV. I know that the hotel was not very expensive and they did have a place to store bought
items that were purchased. There was someone always in the lobby to see what was going on! Will report back. Dana

Gecko Guy, That is the hotel. It was quaint, clean and in a good location. Prices were very affordable and had internet access. Thanks for the link. Dana

Furniture in Sayulita | ||
|
Sioux.. and Heidi..., I have found a furniture store in Sayulita that has similar things to Tonala and good prices. It is called Casa Loca Furniture. The owner, Gina, called me in Dallas today to tell me that she is open. She will be receiving 2 container loads of new items in about 2 - 3 weeks. Just in time for us in June. How about a trip out there. I would probably take the bus. It is located on Avenue Revolucion, and I have the phone number and a map. Let me know what you think. Also, any big items - they deliver. We can make a day of it! Dana |

Going to Casa Loca | ||

Heidi and Sue, I arrive late on Friday, the 7th of June. We could go on that Saturday, the 8th or on Monday, the 10th. I don't know where you (Heidi) are
staying, but we could meet at my place in the Marina and then go to Bucerias to meet Sioux4noff on the bus. I need to call Gina about 1 week ahead of time to
tell her an exact date that we would be there so she will for sure be open. I am probably going to ask my client that I am working with if he would like to go
also (as this is whom I am looking for decorative items for). Just let me know and we will try to coordinate everything. Heidi, I can give you my phone
number in PV and our condo address in the Marina. Then we can find out where to meet Sue. This will work! Thanks for both of you responding.

If you guys want to take the bus to my house, I'll drive to Sayulita to the furniture store if you want. Either way, it sounds fun.

Everyone, This sounds like a great adventure. PVDeb, It may take longer than October with airline prices like they are! I know that I will be there for 6
weeks in Nov. and Dec. that I will have time to help with the casa.
Heidi, Sioux, and CalgarySuzy, Please PM me or send me a personal email to miller.dana@att.net and we can coordinate plans for the furniture store trip. I appreciate Sioux offering to drive! Let me hear from you all. I will arrive June 6th and leave June 23rd. |

Sayulita furniture store trip | ||
|
Just wanted to say that Heidilarch, sioux4noff and I went out to Sayulita to the Casa Loca store. It was a great adventure and wonderful meeting these 2
ladies for the first time. We saw some really pretty painted furniture at Casa Loca. Things that you would not see in every house and custom paint on the
furniture. Gina, the owner, was very attentive in emailing me as to when they would be open. We then ventured into Sayulita and ate a Choco Banana - great
food. Then just wondered around. Just wanted to say that I am proud that I got to meet Heidi and Sue. Hope to keep in touch. Dana
