It sometimes takes a while for me to grasp the obvious!

A couple of days ago, I went to Plaza Caracol for the zillionth time and happened to walk past the "+ Kota" pet store. I have been in the pet store numerous times just to look around. They have cats, dogs, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

I had always thought of this strangely-named store as "plus-Kota" and had never given it a second thought. Then, on my last visit, I was thinking: "Wait a minute, the word 'plus' in Spanish is 'mas'." So, the store isn't "plus-Kota", it is "mas-Kota".

Now, we're getting somewhere, because "mascota" is the Spanish word for mascot, or pet. It only took me a couple of years, but I eventually figured it out!
