Do they sell racks to dry clothes on here in PV? Ideally one of those folding wooden (or metal) ones.

Yes. I have a folding metal one with white coating. Works great and with the rain it is good to have for hand washables.
I bought mine at Mega last jan or feb. 360 pesos. I know it was more costly than the states, but that is the price we pay to live here. Walmart had one but didn't like there's. good luck. |

At the 19 pesos or less stores they sell these little plastic contraptions for drying clothes. It's like a plastic disc with clothespins all around the
edge, and you hang the whole thing from the attached hanger...like a mobile. Not as nice as a drying rack, but certainly a cheaper option.

Also check Woolworth's- upstairs. They usually have drying racks. I bought mine at Sam's a few years ago.

Of course, you don't have to buy 3 clothes racks. Any combo of 3 items on that page, pay for only 2.

Thanks for the info. I saw the rack yesterday at Mega; it was 252 pesos. Not exactly what I want so I will keep looking a bit but may have to settle. I saw
a super fancy one at Liverpool for about $1100 pesos! Nothing at Walmart.
How do you get a Mega flyer? Unless you'd shown that, I would have never known they were having a 3 for 2 special.

The last week of June and all of July is Julio Regalado at Mega. It is a yearly tradition for Mega (and most of the stores) to offer the best savings of the
year at this time.
Julio Regalado is the bald headed (el Pelon) guy who is the Mega mascot. This year he is a prince. About five years ago, in late June, there was a "protest" or at least the non-spanish speaking people thought it was a protest...about 50 women with pots and pans paraded downtown, banging their way in formation and chanting "Julio Regalado!" Donde esta?! Julio Regalado?" Rumors were flying...PV filled with angry women and who the hell is this Julio guy they are so angry about??? It was pretty funny considering it was a marketing campaign for the upcoming July sale at Mega. |

It seems, at one time or another during Julio Regalado, just about every item in Mega is on sale, either 2 X 1 or 3 X 2, including alot of things they
don't have all of the time or in such vast quantities. Now is the time to stock up!!
It's a reward for being here at this time of year. |

Good to know about. I just wish they still carried those cute colorful metallic trash cans (the ones you step on a lever and the lid rises up) that they had
several months ago. Didn't see them on my last trip. I was actually going to try to start separating my recyclables into a separate bag and 2 cans would
make that easier.
Just an FYI: tendedero is a clothesline or drying place and plegable is folding or collapsible. So it's a tendedero plegable...although like with many things, because it's not the most common item, you might use that term with some people and they will still look at you like you have 2 heads and you will need to go into a detailed explanation of what you are referring to. Like in Woolworth... where they don't have them (at least not currently) but thanks for the suggestion to look there. |
